Ugly Kid Joe - Stairway to Hell
Ugly Kid Joe is an American rock band from Isla Vista, California, formed in 1990. The name is a tongue in cheek twist on the glam metal band Pretty Boy Floyd. Musically they mix rock, hard rock, funk metal and heavy metal. Their most successful early releases are the EP "As Ugly as They Wanna Be" (1991) and the album "America's Least Wanted" (1992), both certified double platinum in the US; "As Ugly as They Wanna Be" is notable as the first EP ever to go platinum. The band originally broke up in 1997. Since reuniting in 2010 they have been active again, releasing new music and touring regularly, including festival shows in Europe. A key release of this second phase is "Stairway to Hell", which first appeared as an EP and later in expanded album editions. It features new material by the reunited band and, in some limited digipak versions, comes with a bonus DVD that includes a full festival live show, music videos, an interview and behind the scenes footage on the creation of the cover artwork.
